For those of you that did not hear, our department, in July, lost a great officer. Rick was a great family man, great friend and an officer that was well liked among the sportsman in his area. He left behind his wife, his two children and countless friends. Below is information regarding a fundraiser dinner being planned for his family. There is also a link provided which takes you to a blog site which has more information on the benefit and a list of items available during a silent auction. Some of the items of interest are a 3 man, 6 hour Lake Erie Walleye Charter Fishing Trip, Garmin GPS Navigation System, A 2 person guided fishing trip on the Muskegon River, 8 hours and lunch included, Detroit Gift Basket, with Tigers Tickets, and lots of others.

The park has agreed to waive entry fees on those attending.

The benefit will be held Saturday, August 25th 2012 at Island Lake Recreation Area (Brighton MI- Bluebird Pavillion) from 3-8 pm.

There will be a pasta dinner ($10/person suggested minimum donation)

There will also be shirts, stickers, and rubber bracelets made available to people for a donation to the family.

We will have a silent auction, a bake sale and lots of activities for the whole family.
