Any current reports on the ice conditions?

The report yesterday was limits of perch and 12 in. of ice, this was at Bottomline. The ice has to be rotten and going fast, I don't think I'd make that walk.

Yeah, he always exaggerates. But, if you can get out there right now, it would be unbelivible. May go take the walk out there tommarrow, see if there is ice.

Havent been out there this year but last year at this time we were HAMMERING them out there and mostly HOGS! so I would bet money they are there. its always great there at last ice! And there are some monster crappies there too.

A friend of a friend fished there on Thursday and said the ice was 6" and in horrible shape. He only managed 17 fish but they were 11" and bigger.

there is no way i would get on any ice in se mich right now. your asking for trouble.we have had a thaw for at least a week or more and has rained pretty good twice in the period of time. wait for open water or go to simcoe like im going to monday. use your head guys.

I think its worth the walk to at least see if there is good ice. If its good ice, it will be a day to remember. May even go there with our open water gear. We'll see though....anyone try there today

I've heard about the Banana Dike for sometime through the posts on this site and was wondering if someone could tell me where it is?

The Dike is just south of PtMoullie or the mouth of the Huron River. If you have a chart or hotspot map it`s very easy to spot.

After driving down on Saturday I chickened out before the walk. Was anyone adventurous?

I did see a beautiful whitetail buck that was still wearing both sides of his rack.

Iknow Im not goin out there on whatever little ice is left. How about as soon as the ice leaves?
are the fish still in there? Ive tried in years past but have always been too late.
Talked to a guy coming out of there 2 years ago
some time in april. He had a bucket full of crappie and perch.

O yeah, ice out i heard is very good too, as is any other perch spawn area. Also, in late summer. I think the run was a little late by the reports, and experience. I think right now should be great if you can get there in a boat.
