I boated the Ausable on Monday, launching at the mouth, and I ran to the point just downstream of the dam. I saw a number of Atlantics swimming, mostly individual fish in the lower river. I saw quite a few Kings - almost all males. A few of the Kings were real nice size, probably at least 20#. But most were small fish, 5# or less. I saw a handful of Steelhead, including a couple that might have gone 6# - 8#. I didn't see anything I could identify as Coho, but there might have been some. It was bright, and sunny, and I could see well everywhere that wasn't over about 8 feet deep. Found some great spots where sand has moved around, and created nice holding areas. I fished a few places, but never had a bite. A few fish bedding, but not many. Not much traffic on the river for Salmon season, although there were people fishing most of the usual spots.
