I'm looking to make a trip to the Au Sable in the grayling area. There are a couple campgrounds right on the water that have been incredibly difficult to find information on. So I am wondering if anyone has information on White Pine Campground and Rainbow Bend Forest Campground. I've read they are first come first serve, I've seen no pricing, but I'm curious to see what they are all about.

White pine is a first come first serve. Only access is by canoe. I've been last fair amount of times in June and July and never seen it too busy. Would think this time of year you shouldn't have any issue finding a spot.

The AuSable runs through the Huron National Forest in that area. The area from Grayling to the 4001 Bridge is the MIo district. For a real knowledgable source I'd contact the Mio Ranger Station. They'll have a crew that manages all the campgrounds and other dispersed camping areas there.
