Shot last 2 at 95 and 130 yards. Ruger bolt with 250ftx. Both neck shots that was able to see them drop in their tracks. Thinking on trying barnes next year.

Nice shooting. Do you go for the neck or was it just in the circle of error and hit it by accident?

I've never seen one drop like a stone. But i try to to hit the lungs which = tracking some.
On my 185 yard shot I did lead it a little but it must have stopped as I hit pretty much where I aimed. it was high shoulder maybe like 3 inches forward of a perfect (text book) high should shot. It totally shattered the shoulder blade but it ran 80 yards. Maybe if it were a 40 yard shot in the same spot it would have dropped him.

I was only able to get a good clear shot at the neck on the first one. Was happy with the results and decided to try it again on the second. Prior deer I have always shot behind front leg to get heart lung area and some still ran up to 80 - 100 yards.On smaller private property I like to make sure they drop on the property and not on someone else"s to avoid problems.
