hey Fishmann, have you had good luck fishing Womplers? i have head they have good gills in there, but never tried it. I fish Sand Lake just down the road from there quite a bit with decent success. Heard rumors that there is a sheet of ice on Sand Lake, and with these cold single digit nights, we might be fishing in Irish Hills sooner than we know it! Let me know when you are going up to Womplers, would like to join ya and learn the lake!

CMFish,
I live right by sand lake and drive by it every morning... As of about an hour or so ago the lake was only half frozen. The North side had a sheet acrossed it and the south side from about mid-lake was open... It will take some CALM nights to lock it in...

Trap attack at wamplers needs to be cancelled or the dates need to be pushed back! There are only a few lakes that are locked in now and "might" have enough ice for this weekend but I doubt it... Just depends on the wind...

Sand still only half frozen, stinkin' wind

Evans is open also...

The wind is not supposed to calm until Thursday... 12MPH was the calmest I could find from now until Thursday early AM... Hope those predictions are wrong, if not the lakes around here (Irish Hills) will have a hard time locking up.

Went by Devils lake Tuesday and it was about 2/3's iced over. Cherry Point was open to the other side of the lake. The whole north end and west ends are iced over and should be plenty thick by this weekend. Just don't go out to the point.
