Anybody Here Ever Smoke Carp?

Just wondering if anyone on here has eaten smoked carp. If you have, was it any good? Salmon has gotten so expensive, I am thinking about trying something different.

I have like 20 pounds of it and took it to work. Never made it out of the lunch room. That being said, they also reduced a smoked koon to a carcass

Buzz wasn't very good, and inhaling made you more nauseous than anything else. :D
Just kidding. I believe because of the toxicity the consumption advisory states "Do Not Eat These Fish".

It's not bad, trim the dark meat out before it's smoked. The cleaner the water the better it taste.

Speared them as a teenager and gave them to a family friend who would smoke them. They didn't complain.

They are great smoked, just hard to keep lit.have to lite the rite end.

It's a lot easier to eat smoked due to the amount of bones! Trying to filet Carp is worse than fileting a Pike.

A friend smoked a few from my clean lake, they tasted like ham. I liked them! They were small, approximately 15 inchers.

I think I’d try smoking sheepheads first. Easier to handle, plentiful, likely less toxic.
