hey Guys I’m Canadian but married a girl from the Macomb area and love to fish but unfortunately none of the people I know here fish.

So I was hoping any of you can pm me some hidden places where I can get some LM bass anywhere around me?

I’ve gone to st Clair but I don’t have a boat so I’m limited.

Please help!

Thanks!

Try searching elsewhere here (Inland Lakes) for largemouth and shore fishing. I’ve read a lot of posts related to Macomb county fishing. Stoney Creek metro park is a frequent topic in that forum. My inland haunts are mainly in Oakland county, namely Kent and Pontiac lakes. I shore fish those when the wind and chop on Lake St Clair proves too much work or just down right dangerous. That said LSC does have some areas like Metro and Selfridge where you might get on fish if you’re patient.

I was there Friday night on the long dock that goes out that has lights and seen some pike swimming but once again had no luck.

Used anything a smallie eats and some big pike baits but nothing.

Tried dark jigs, trd on the ned rig, spinners, black sexy dawgs, whopper ploppers, sprinker frog, Black buzz bait, senkos, flukes and even a small perch but couldn’t get a single bite.

Thanks for the help.
After searching Cusic Lake, there was a thread in here where they say it’s private and there is no public access.

And I have been to Stoney and the upper part of Stoney looks good but on the shoulder of the road there’s no parking signs everywhere so you would probably have to park a mile down and walk back to fish it if I’m not mistaken.

Thanks again anyways

Live on 23 and Ryan on clear spring lake filled with large mouth but I still take an hour drive to shore fish by the waste treatment plant port Huron at night because you can literally catch ANYTHING over there I have personally caught steelhead, coho salmon, king salmon, lake trout, Atlantic salmon, walleye, channel catfish, all Michigan bass species etc. if ur gonna fish down here with no boat go over to port Huron buy some rod holders from Anderson pro bait and use a 3 way swivel with a six ounce wait and a small single hook with an emerald shiner

There's a lake we used to call Bear Ass back in the day over off of Auburn between Ryan and Dequindre. It's at the back of the parking lot across from the old Four Bears Water Park. You can also get to it from the other side off of Hamlin. It has been close to 20 years since I've fished it, but it was always some of the best bass fishing. Additionally, a lot of the marinas that dot Lake St Clair are also really good and don't care if you fish as long as you're respectful.

Has anyone else ever noticed that, whenever there is an overpass built along a highway/expressway, there is a pond, or some ponds very nearby? They had to dig out dirt to build the ramps for overpasses, and that left ponds. Some of those ponds hold fish. Some of the fish can be quite large.

"Didja ever notice?" ;)

I live in Macomb, any good bass fishing has to be done Like a Ninja, because most places are posted. Spring lake, Bare ass beach are private. Alot of small lakes and ponds for bass but access is limited. Stoney Creek isn't very good in my opinion, to much pressure, to many people keep everything. Try the point and back waters at Metro beach,or Oakland county lakes like Pontiac lake or Lakeville, Orion.
