Broke another Spey/Switch rod over the weekend. I was walking down some frozen steps to get to the AuSable and I slipped. Fell flat on my back and in the process busted the tip off on my 13' 7 wt Echo Full Spey rod. I should have known better. Normally I keep the rod broken down to two pieces until I get to the river. Makes it easier to maneuver through the woods and such. Not this time and I paid for it. I'll be making the trip to Schultz's this weekend so they can send it back for repair or replacement.

In case anyone is wondering the water levels have dropped and it is ridiculously clear.

As someone who helps people that slip & fall on ice and suffer calamitous, sometimes career ending injuries, it’s unfortunate you broke your rod. It IS fortunate some orthopedic surgeon isn’t putting you back together. So there’s that. :)
