Headed up to Atlanta tonight thru Sunday. Going to try my luck with steelhead in the area around Alpena. If anybody is going to be out and wouldn't mind a tagalong I'd love to join anybody going. Father in law bought a place in Atlanta in 2018 and I don't know much about fishing the northeast corner of the state. Any info or insight would be great. PM's welcomed. Thanks.

Find 9th St dam (in Alpena) and go from there. You can fish from shore, or wade. I'd take Waders, cuz you might need them. I recommend floating spawn, if you have any.

I've fished 9th Street earlier in the year (early November) with decent success. Also don't pass up the Cheboygan river. You are looking at 45 minutes to an hour drive anyway you decide to go to catch steelhead. Good luck!
