Ok this is a true to life story I saw the deer hanging down at the butcher shop today. A nice big Buck I’m thinking it was either a 6,7,or 8. I can’t remember but here’s the story behind this one.

The bow hunter shot the deer the deer run across the road and a car then finished it off. So the question was whose deer dose it belong to?

Well from my understanding the law was called the officer wrote up the paper work for insurance and the driver then had legal possession of the deer. But they then turned it over to the hunter who had shot it in the start.

Well, this is an similar quesiton to an often raised problem. Whose deer is it? I know there are all kinds of traditional and ethical answers, but I have been told the legal answer is as follows: the person who "possesses" the deer has legal ownership, as long as it was taken by legal means.

Perhaps Boehr will see this thread, and he can add his two cents.

Mmmmmmmm grilled venison.

That's not a bad way to get your meat tenderized and tagged. I guess that lucky hunter can now legally shoot 3 bucks.
