Tonight's the last night with a low temp below freezing in the 8 day forecast. North Channel was back up to 46 degrees today. There's still a couple weeks left at a minimum before the fat lady starts singing on the soft water season.

Saw somebody ice fishing about 50 yards out in front of Bobby Macs. He had a small jon boat pulled up at the edge of the ice sheet, but was out of the boat standing on the ice. Looks like he got there by open water. I guess the bite 2 feet in from the edge of the ice sheet is better than right at the edge.
