1911 conversion kits

Now that the 1911 topic has come up and I see so many Kimber owners, has anyone bought the .22 conversion kit for their Kimber and if so how do you like it? I'm thinking about getting one for fooling around.

Also does anyone have the laser sight grips on their gun?

You can find a ton of info at The 1911 Forums . Both Kimber and Ciener make conversion kits that seem to get alot of talk time over there. Cabelas sells one (can't remember the brand name - Maybe it is the Ciener). The kits I've seen go for $250 - $300. Not too bad but thats also the price of a Browning Buckmark .22 or a Ruger Mark II.
The benefit to the conversion is that you gain familiarity with your 1911 relatively cheap.

No laser sight grips here either. Just a bit too pricey for me right now.

I'm gonna get a Ciener kit for my 1911's. i've heard they are the best.
No laser grips, i really don't like any light on my gun...whether it be a laser or light.....gives away your location.
i have the Ciener kit for my 1911, and love it. you can shoot all day for next to nothing, and still change over to the .45 for the testosterone buzz.
Ok I bite what do laser grips cost? I've never really investigated them so I don't have a clue.
I have a ciener conversion for a 1911 gov model with 2 magazines that I would sell for $100. It is in Alma, MI. Anyone interested email at [email protected]. I don't have the 1911 I used it on anymore, great shooter though.
