8 dnf’s have moved to the backyard now. They are vacuuming up the choke cherry’s all over the ground

Will be out shortly for first sit of the year and cant wait. Didnt get anything last year as I had horrible flu shytes for 3 weeks so never got out when the gettin is good. Anything brown is going down tonite! Tag printed and now a few practice shots with my excal and then up the tree I go! Rain supposed to stop here around 6 and my stand is surrounded by corn on 2 sides and bordering a bush lot with canola plants in the open fields so hopefully see something come out to eat a last meal.

Hunted a permission piece this morning as wind wasn’t good for my farm. Go figure daylight pic of decent 8 dogging a doe at farm. We found a great spot to set up tonight on the permission piece. See how it goes

Oldest daughter just drove me out to the far stand. Super appreciate that. No sweating.
Downside of the wind on a travel corridor for sniffing bucks. There's about 3-4 bucks out here... I would love to get the opportunity to meet up close and personal.

I'm still feeling saucy from that shroomie buck. I'm sure we all are.

Got a 7pt about 8:30 this morning. He was about 25yrds and decided to lay down and take a 45min nap. I waited til he stood back up and took a step forward. I was alittle worried cause was raining and didn't find blood or arrow at first. Waited awhile and looked for arrow, found it with some blood on it. Then looked over a hill and there he laid. Didn't go 20yrds. No blood trail.
