    Hey yall, So over this weekend I pulled the trigger and decided to pick up a Garmin Striker Plus 4CV. I mainly picked it up because I can use it on my kayak, boat, and hardwater. Which this leads me to the question of which transducer to pick up for ice. These being the GT8HW and the GT10HN...

  3. Lowrance HDS 5 Gen2 Setup- 360 degree RAM pivot mount, cockpit view

    Only flat spot to mount the RAM pivot mount was smack in the middle, bridging the lip of the cockpit. Love how it can pivot 360 degrees! (sort of, the chord will limit motion)

    My kayak, a Future Beach Trophy 126, has a dihedral base (concave down) and I was concerned about air bubbles forming under the kayak. So, I mounted the ducer on a flat plane one step above the bottom. Should do the trick.
