For the guy who wants to try different set-ups with different size baits for bigger fish. There are actually more Gamakatsu size 1/0 hooks than what's pictured here that I will throw in on the deal. If I have to mail them to you, it will cost you five bucks extra through PayPal before I send...

Just moved to gun lake area going to be going fishing in the lakes in Yankee springs/Barry state game area tomorrow and Saturday. Not looking for anyone’s secret lakes/spots and if you do want to give me a good lake please PM me instead of posting on the forum. I’m more wondering what to use...
  3. Lk. St. Clair and St. Clair River
This is just an old picture of me and what I thought to be a prettier than normal pike that I caught years ago. Caught it on Holloway Reservoir in late fall on a 3/8 oz jig and twister tail that I was casting from shore. Caught a few walleyes first, before this fish latched on to my line.
  4. Detroit River and Lake Erie
Help me out fellers: I got a few days to go fishing with my buddy later June/early July of next year. We just want to catch as many pike as possible. We have kayaks, no motor boat. Where is the best spot within 6ish hours of Detroit? Eagle lake ON? Chain lakes, WI? Houghton? Thanks guys for...
  5. Warm Water Species Fishing
My buddy and I have been scouring the internet and maps to find new places to fish. We have found a couple of dams that are about an hour or so away at least. Also have found one that is really close. Other than that we have found nothing else. We don't want to drive over an hour for a damn and...

  7. Warm Water Species Fishing
Hello, I live on a deep clear lake and I want to start trolling for walleye, pike, and trout. I have a pontoon. Any suggestions on rods? Do I need special line or reels? I'm going to use deep diving Crankbaits. Should I use an outrigger? Looking for specific brands/selections. Thank you.

I’m wondering if anyone has ideas of where Northern Pike are being caught in the Cedarville Hessel area?

  10. South East Michigan Streams and Rivers
Good morning gentlemen - I'm going for a float on the Huron River tomorrow at Island Lake. Would I be wasting my time if I tried fishing for some smallmouth or pike while on the river? Are they biting at all right now? If yes, any tips on lures / baits / presentation? I have a little bit of...
  11. Tackle Talk
Anyone have experience with this stuff? Is it any good? Got some 80lb for musky fishing but just purchased a spool of 30lb for a heavy bass/pike rod and was testing the strength with a fish scale I got, it keeps breaking between 22-28lbs. Making me second guess if I should use it or not. Would...
  12. Warm Water Species Fishing
How's the pike fishing below Mio Dam? I normally fish for pike below another dam on a different river system in the fall but the water level is too low, so I am looking for new spots. I recently tried fishing below Mio dam and Alcona dam, but didn't get a single bite. At my normal spot I fish...
  13. Warm Water Species Fishing
Heading up to the Soo next couple weekends going for pinks which I have figured out and Smallmouth which I do not. Looking to be steered in the right direction for smallmouth or what type of water, structure, depth, etc I should be fishing? Also not opposed to a guide if anyone has a...
  14. Warm Water Species Fishing
I'll be on Drummond Island for a while late Sept/early Oct. Pike are the main target. I will have an 18 foot boat that can handle some waves as well as float tubes if we hit any bays. Looking for cabbage and drop offs I guess. Can anyone share some of your best secrets about where and how...
  15. Lk. St. Clair and St. Clair River
Good pike action trolling Lake St. Clair yesterday, which was actually Sunday. Days have been all mixed up lately. Launched at Harley Ensign. Got about 8 or 9 (lost count), mostly around 30 inches, a fat 32 incher the biggest. Running high was the ticket, more so than speed, though most...
  16. Lk. St. Clair and St. Clair River
With Crocker being still not open I'm wondering where would be best to go on the W side of the lake (not too far a drive from the western 'burbs) for some C+R pike fishing, maybe with some bass and 'eyes in the mix near other DNR launch sites that are currently open. I was told there were some...
  17. Detroit River and Lake Erie
Got out just before dusk on Friday night at Wyandotte. Started trolling and the action came fast, with lots of walleye action straight away. They really liked a diving shad bait, but I also got strikes on a deep tail dancer and larger shallow-running shad bait. Nothing big, fish running from...
  18. Detroit River and Lake Erie
I've had the best walleye action ever this year, but only 2 pike so far, one of which just over a week ago may have still had eggs. Which was not so surprising, given the water temperature in the low 40s then. Usually I get more toothy critters trolling. Wonder what's up with that? But I...
  19. Warm Water Species Fishing
Wrong forum, I apologize. The site navigation threw me. But I'm unable to figure out how to delete it, and re-posted it in the Lake St. Clair forum. Looks like we have some reasonably nice days with moderate (about 10mph) east winds coming, which would make the W side of the lake brutal...
  20. Lk. St. Clair and St. Clair River
Simply wondering. Whether by accident or intent, especially near W side DNR launch sites that are open, namely Brandenburg and points south, as I'm coming from the western 'burbs. Just asking for general areas, though I'm a C+R pike angler who mashes down the barbs in the hooks, so no worries...
