  1. Out of State Fishing
I'm curious if anyone makes the trip down to Ohio to fish the Maumee River during the walleye run? It's amazing how high and muddy that river can get. It's raging right now, and it makes me wonder how long before I start seeing guys standing down there in waders in those swift currents. I...
  2. Lk. St. Clair and St. Clair River
Spent a few hours bottom fishing from the wall using creek chubs for bait and caught a couple of nice size catfish and three keeper smallmouth bass. Going after these fish keeps me in practice during the dog days of summer when the walleye bite slows right down. I should mention that I did...
  3. Lk. St. Clair and St. Clair River
The water is warming up and my shore fishing success rates for walleye has slowed down significantly. I figure they're all hanging out in deeper, cooler waters nowadays where I can't reach them with a cast. However, I did have a little bit of fun reeling in this big, ugly guy this morning...
  4. Warm Water Species Fishing
I already tried posting this but it did not work. So I am wondering about cat fishing the three rivers, centreville areas for channels and flattys. I have heard that there’s not much flatts there, but is there any way or spot near the locations I have that u can catch flathead? I am also happy...
  5. Warm Water Species Fishing
I am wondering if there’s any good catfish spots on the st joe around the centreville, three rivers area. If you list any spots also give some tips on what you catch the fish on and the time of the year. I have heard it’s mostly channels in that part of the river, but has there been any flathead...
  6. Icefishing LP inland lakes and rivers
Been trying to find Channel Cats through the ice this season and haven’t had the best of luck so far. I’ve tried a few lakes, primarily Holloway Reservoir and Pontiac lake with a bit of success but nothing like I’ve seen people get. Anybody have any ideas? I’ve explored other threads for this...
  7. Lk. St. Clair and St. Clair River
Caught this surprise catfish on a big creek chub that I was trying to lure a muskie into taking on a late summer day last year. After the picture, I threw it back in the drink to fight another day.
  8. Saginaw Bay and its Tributaries
Hello! I am just looking for some insight on this location to target channel catfish. A local in Essexville told me Finn Road is a good spot throughout the summer, but I am not sure if he meant at the campground or what. Thank you for your insight.
  9. Warm Water Species Fishing
Hello, I am going to be at Spring Lake next week. Does anyone know any good catfish spots? Thx
  10. Warm Water Species Fishing
Howdy, folks! Just wondering if anybody actually has caught or even hear about large catfish on the reservoir within the last decade or so. I have been fishing it since 2010 or so, and only caught one channel catfish that weighed in around 10 lbs. Never anything bigger, though. Most fish seem to...
  11. Warm Water Species Fishing
Howdy, y'all. I am not looking to get anybody's secret spots. Just point me in the proper direction. I am looking to fish the Maple River this summer for catfish. Should I go downriver towards Muir? or stay near Maple Rapids? I've spent much of my time over the years on other rivers. Not so much...
  12. Warm Water Species Fishing
Looking to hear everybody's opinion on what brand circle hook they use. Berkley, Mustad, Gamakatsu, VMC, and Eagle Claw fill my tackle box at the moment. I was able to pick up a few Team Catfish circle hooks recently. I am very excited to give them a shot when I get the chance. For the most...
  13. Saginaw Bay and its Tributaries
Does anybody have a homemade catfish bait that they use and have faith in? I sure do! Last summer, I began to soak hot dogs in Kool Aid powder. It worked very well for me! Jello soaked Shrimp and chicken also did some work as well.
