This is how I dry the fan and wings to prepare for making a real feather decoy.

Could you tell me how you preserved the wings? Did you just cut the skin, remove the meat, clear out the bone marrow and use borax? I want to do them for my daughters first turkey.

Since these wings & fan are for a decoy, I wasn't to fussy cutting away meat and I did not use any borax or salt.
When I have worked on wings and fan for an inside display I did use salt and Borax on the meat, but I still stored everything in the pole barn for a couple of months in case flies want to checkout the project.
A Google search will result in several good videos.
Rather simple project, I'm sure this will turn out well.
