Sebewaing's Fishtown - An Ice Fishing Village on Saginaw Bay 1878
An amazing article from 1878 describing a Fishtown on the ice near Sebewaing. Upper Thumb residents fished all winter in order to keep food on the table. "Fishtown" was located over 10 miles from shore. It had its own stores and vendors bought catches from the fishermen. Illustrated.
