Going on a family fishing trip to Hamlin lake in late June would appreciate any information on how to fish the lake. Thanks
If you are chasing bass hit Indian Pete Bayou. Its a great spawning area for the bass and your timing will be close or if post spawn fish the points out of that bayou and around the narrows on east or west side in the weed flats or just off the edges of those flats. There is a long underwater shallow area that comes off the sand dune west on the narrows that rolls off into deeper water fairly quick. Work that drop back towards the narrows if the flats don't produce. Bluegill and panfish fishing is good on the upper Hamlin lake and walleyes can be caught in the lower Hamlin area. Its a large body of water and the wind can rip hard especially on lower Hamlin. Anywhere in, around and through the narrows can be excellent for all species. Hope that helps a little....good luck!
