Callahan Reef

Hi - I am working on my genealogy on the Callahan Family side from Bay City, MI. My great grandfather was Jeremiah Callahan and he was a commercial fisherman in the Saginaw Bay area back in the late 1800's to the early 1900's. I noticed there is a "Callahan Reef" in the bay where walleye are known to be abundant. Would anyone on this site know any history about the reef? How it came to be known as "Callahan Reef"? Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you!
