What Uncle Teddy did, in my opinion, was worse. Uncle Teddy sought out the KGB for help.
I'm afraid your opinion isn't the law.
What do YOU think? Was it OKEE DOKEE for a seated US senator to seek help from the Soviet KGB to try to stop the reelection of a US president?
I know what I would do now. I would remove Uncle Teddy's body from Arlington National Cemetery, with a MAJOR media blitz and intern him in a unmarked, prison grave. He is already dead so we can't shoot him for treason, BUT, we CAN treat his memory with the scorn it deserves.
His being buried at Arlington is a slap in the face to all those who EARNED that right.
What was worse, what Kennedy did or what the Reagan admin did?
I find it hard to believe that you defend the admin that sold weapons to our enemies and then used those proceeds to purchase and distribute drugs on our soil.
Was it ok for Reagan to tell the Iranians to onto hostages so he could defeat Carter?
Kennedy had John Tunney send a message to Yuri Andropov through the head of the KGB asking Andrupov to do TV interviews, under the idea that if Andrupov spoke to the American public the American public would think Reagans hostility to the USSR was dangerous and it would hurt his election chances.
Plus what he did isn't legally treason, or even close to it.
How did I defend that administration?
How is contacting the KGB, to influence a US election, good?
Maybe not in your book, ask those Men of honor in Arlington how they having that scumuloid there with them. Uncle Teddy was/is a disgrace to this nation. I sure would NEVER have wanted him in a foxhole next to me, nor would I want anyone who supported him in there as well. Scum can NEVER be trusted and only scum supports scum.
so campaign law only applies if you win?
Gots to give credit where credit is due. Even since Bill and Hill got stung with the tax evasion related to Whitewater, they have become quite adept and using the loopholes available to them.
With all this talk about Pres. Trump, Sen. Kennedy, the Clintons, and Former Pres. Reagan, we seem to have forgotten Former Pres. Nixon’s lie.
The NY Times article on Pres. Nixon’s efforts to sabotage the 1968 peace initiative.
My book doesn't matter. The law books matter... and it isn't even close to treason according to the actual law (and repeated decision by the Supreme Court).
OOPS! Found this while rereading the thread. Former Pres. Nixon wasn’t forgotten after all. Thanks frenchriver1.
Well thats different. Uncle Teddy was a Democrat
Please post the law that both Donald senior and Donald junior broke. It would stop all the bs and the Democrats would have something of substance instead of two slices of bread with noting in between.
That was my point.
