Why is the ban now permanent?

Just remember to subtract the 1000 or so from that quota report that they have killed for inspection.

You ever get the feeling we the people should get to vote for the NRC and DNR figure heads?

    Symen.....

Regarding your rhetorical question on "vot(ing) for the NRC and DNR figureheads"........please take a look at a couple of posts on the "DNR Updates" thread on the Disease forum by posters Nick Adams and Farmlegend (both are within the last couple of days).

They offer insightful hints on the ramifications of getting hunting-linked issues on the ballot. It would be Pandora's Box.

We hunters are a small voting minority in the overall electorate. And because what we do...hunting & killing animals for fun.....is so invested with emotional and ethical questions putting most any kind of 'hunt' oriented issue on the ballot would be the heighth of folly.

Do you really want the same people who voted for the dove proposal to elect the NRC and DNR figure heads?

Rebecca and the NRC commissioners made the correct political actions regarding the baiting ban. Said decisions were necessary if our state is to receive more CWD "Bailout " federal funding. The federal money is there, we should get "our share"
The animal lovers would be delighted to see deer baiting on the ballot. They are chortling with glee to see what their Proposition D has stirred up, the publicity regarding baiting, the bait vs food plots arguing, us hunters showing our true colors. We can look forward to a referendum on gun registration
