    Me!

I've always been more into salmon/steelhead/trout fishing but this past summer I got into catfish fishing, and now I'm hooked. Nothing like setting up on a river at sundown and letting some cut bait soak until the wee hours of the morning. Here are some nice ones I caught this fall, including a really nice 28" leucistic channel cat (like an albino, but with pigmented eyes). I really wish I had gotten the white one mounted or at least some better pictures before it went back in the water... Hoping some day I'll get him again. Anyone else ever caught a white one?

I like to fish a 2oz flat slip sinker on 30lb braid, leading to bead and a swivel. After the swivel I put 2-3' of 10lb flouro and a 6/0 circle hook with half of a bluegill or silver bass.

Post your pics, and tell me how you like to catch them!

I fish piers in West Michigan and drag a crawler on the bottom of a channel. Don't catch any huge ones.

43 pounder is my biggest to date, but this one didn't come from Michigan waters. Catching kitties is a blast.

If you are serious about getting an actual skin mount done of a catfish, you need to do your homework a head of time to find a taxidermist that actually will do it. Because they don't have scales, the skin can be a giant PITA to work with, and many taxidermists don't want to touch them, or will quote you a boatload in an effort to discourage you from wanting to get it mounted.
