    What area, I used hunt just east of Lake Gogebic. Very nice land up there. Too bad the wolves (and weather) killed most of the deer.

    If you are looking at the map right where the lake bends on the south side, go straight west a couple miles from the point and you’ll hit our camp. We have quite a few who hunt just east of the lake. I prefer the more rugged elevation changes west of the lake. Not nearly as many deer as east of the lake but much prettier to me.

    I haven't hunted up there in 15 years( east of the lake and north of 28). Last time in the area was 10 years ago when i was driving to MN to watch my nephews first college football game. Figured if the DNR is not issuing public land antlerless in 20 years, the herd has not rebounded

    Public or private in Arenac?

    Plenty of room for all of us. I am one of the odd ones that like to know other people are hunting the same general areas. It makes it nice knowing what the deer are doing overall. Plus I like to know I am not getting excited about an area only to walk up on another hunter. I try to avoid areas already being hunted by a pretty wide swath.
