    You guys think the ice will move out before the opener? Ha ha. May 15th isn't that far away. I come up every year on the 15th but this year doesn't look like it's going to happen.

    it will be close lol. i remember spring of 95 the ice didn't leave til may 14th. still over 2 1/2 feet of ice out there. will be hitting it again shortly looking for perch

    As of Friday evening it looked like you could still ice fish out there. FM

    I was up at Bay Mills on the 30th to the 1st, and the ice was there but it was looking pretty dark!! I'm anxious to get up there also with the boat to get some of those early eye"s coming out of the river!! I am also going to the st. Marys river for those atlanics. I'm hoping for upmounty to keep me posted!!

    As of this evening it looks wide open from the BBGG webcam. Hard to know if that tells the entire story. That's why I'm hoping someone can give a first hand report. I'm pretty sure it should be good by the 15th based on the forecast.

    sorry i didn't get on here yesterday. it is fishable now. some ice floating around near lake superior. havent seen a boat out yet. i am sure it will have alot of boats for the opener

    Fished Tuesday thru Thursday as the wind allowed. Caught plenty of pike but no walleye. Most pike were 24-26".

    finally made it out today and did well. picked up mid morning in the bull rushes.
