Wondered if anybody could give me any info on the fishing in wiaska bay for walleye? I usually come up around the 12th to the 15th just before the closing . Have doctors appt. on the 15th, so probably will come up on the 10th to the13th. Hows the bay look for ice this year? Will be bringing my sled up and staying at Bay Mills Casino. Any info would help, I no there isn"t a lot of guys that fish there and if there is they don"t talk much. I use to talk to fowlersdunckhunter but I think he went to school for the coastguard.

Can't really help on the ice in Brimley, but the ice near Izaak Walton Bay was 8-10 inches on Friday near the shipping channel. I think you'd still have some days left out there

OK, I'm back and didn't do so good on the ice. I fished Tues. night out in front of Pickles Rest. in about 5 fow and caught two sub legals (eye's) and that was it!!
Talked to Steve and he said he caught 8 the other night in the same place. So I returned to fish there Wed. morning and Wed. evening, no fish. So Thur. I got up and started to head out and found it was a blizzard out so I decided to go back to my warm bed, which was probably a mistake.
OH!!! I forgot to tell you about my misfortune Wed. night, I was bending over to look in the whole and Yes you guessed it my phone went right down the hole!! I saw it floating down like a big do-jigger. Tried to see where it landed , but it went out of sight. Needless to say I was very distraught, for I am an electrical contractor and have many contacts and pics of many jobs and people, not to mention all my fish pics and hunting experiences.
The only good things that happened was, I went up there with $6oo and came home with $1400, and all my rooms (3 nights) and food was free.

Ya I was pretty bummed out when I dropped the phone down the whole!! You no it's like loosing your wallet, with all those contacts and pictures! Had a good time though on the ice fishing. I definatley am coming up in june or before, maybe you can tell me when those eye"s are in the bay and I'll shoot up there. Thank you for your help and info, and tell Steve thanks also, maybe I'll see you guys up there this summer?!?

I think Bird's Eye Outfitters in the Soo rents kayaks and maybe canoes.
