I’ve been running Okuma Convectors for 4 years and I’m getting the upgrade bug. I bought a couple Daiwa Saltists on a whim last year and they seem like a major step up in quality.

Anyone run both the Saltist and Tekota and have feed back on which is better? I know Tekota gets a lot of love out there but looking for a comparison directly between the two or any other higher end line counters.

Do your convectors still work ok? What size are they? I need a couple to replace two that aren't working anymore. If yours are still working, I would be interested in all 4 of yours. Shoot me a PM.
    Thanks

I am looking at the Convector low profile at 100 bucks they seem pretty sweet.

I haven’t used either line counter version, but I have used the non-line counter versions of both. I like the saltists better than the tekotas. The saltists have a higher gear ratio, so make sure you are ok with that. Not sure why a faster ratio would be a bad thing unless you have to crank in big clumps of floating weeds often.

Bought two of them this year along with 8' Okuma rods. Used them for trolling walleye and love them! Money well spent.

Tekotas are real nice but after spending on a couple I went with Daiwa Sealines and Okuma Coldwaters for 1/2 the price. I may have to swap out the drag washers on them sooner than the Tekotas but that's only a few $'s per reel.

I run the Convector low profiles for walleye. Great reels. I like the thumb option to let out line. I got them at Frank's for 80.00 regular price.

I did get 2 of them at the fishing show. But I don't think I was the one that took the last two. Last time I was up at Franks they had
