Hey all! Heading up to the crystal falls, watersmeet area in between classes this weekend. Saw the sad cold front after all this beautiful weather. Was hoping to get into smallmouth in the Ottawa national forest. Any tips for fishing a cold front during the spawn for the brown bass? We will be in a canoe fishing finesse light tackle for the finicky bass or whatever else bites. Pm ok too! Thanks in advance

I wouldn't worry about the weather, shouldn't affect much this time of year. I fished last Friday in the central UP, water was still in the 50's. Did OK. Fished on Sunday and things were really starting to pick up. This weekend should be really good. I don't know the lakes by Watersmeet area, but lake Ottawa by Iron River is a good lake, has special regulations. Have fun!

    What were you targeting?
I’ve never made it to the Iron River area.
Hoping to hit the blues spawn in the local area around Alger county.

Smallmouth mostly at lake Ottawa, also caught rockbass and perch.
