That's what the Gino's owner told me when I asked on wendsday just going by what he told me now taking a side by side out tommarow with 10 to 12 guys setting up a condo on the ice at Gino's
Too many gas pockets around selfridge, one being right in the canal that takes you out to the bay, have seen it open a few times from quads.
I remember seeing a work truck in that gas pocket on the way out of the canal many years ago. Who remembers that? Posted using Outdoor Hub Campfire
I remember the truck going in. Like others said.............there are too many gas pockets out there for a car or truck. Just a few years ago there were two 4 wheelers in the drink just outside of Anglers Point. YOU are a braver person than I am if you try. Bob
can't say i remembered that but i have driven my old suburban down that ramp a few times. one time the guard told me parking was full and i said ''the entire lake is filled with trucks?'' he waved me through.
There's been a guy driving a full size pickup all over Ginos and metro for the last week. Ice over 12" in those areas.
I found this link on the Sag bay forum http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/safety/ice/thickness.html It's been a few years, but I drove my 3/4 ton Chevy probably 1.5 miles out from the Crocker launch. Disclaimer: Drive at your own risk , I am by no means responsible for you going in the drink.
Couple years back a kid took mom and dads minivan for a spin, decided to go down the ramp at selfridge and went in at the entrance of the lake.
Ya idk guys I'll probably just stick to the leather people movers just would be nice to say I've done it, this winter is a record breaker! Don't see it getting much colder
