How far and where do you go to fish? We have fished Canada in the past. And we now want to stay in the States. I am from Ohio ! But I see a lot of people wanting to fish other places. Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota are target states for us. Any suggestions are welcome. That is if we will be able to travel safely, covid.

Drummond Island is a great destination spot for the family and has great fishing as well. Much of the area on the northwest side around all the resorts fishes more like an inland lake than Great Lakes waters. Plenty of walleye, smallmouth and pike all summer long. There’s a mixed bag cold water fishery in the shipping channel down to the south side of the island.

Going about as exotic as you could get, rent a houseboat for a week or two up on the Rainy Lake system on the Minnesota boundary waters. Tow your fishing boat behind it, and never have to end every fishing day running back to the same dock. Just keep exploring new water the whole time.
