A have a cousin that just bought a new boat. The seller didn’t have a registration for the trailer.

Anyone know of any place listing official specs From the manufacturer or anything like that so he can avoid having to slip the boat or whatnot to go get the trailer weighed.

He has the model of the trailer, make is shoreland’r.

or launch the boat, and tow the trailer to a Truck Stop that has a scale. They'll weigh your trailer, and give you a receipt to verify the weight, usually for about $5. It only takes a few minutes - like filling up with gas. Don't forget to go back and get your boat when you're done.

I agree with sportsman I think you'll need a slip from a certified scale probably depending on the agent you get at the sos I once knew a guy that had a farmer weigh his Polaris ranger and give him the slipsound familiar sportsman lol

Marinas and Marine stores get this all the time. Go to one buy something and tell them. Then ur off to ur SOS without all the bs hassle of going to a weight station.

If you have to launch it to get it weighed, launch at Johnson St launch in Bay City (Indy bridge, opposite side from ship). Only 2 minutes down the road to "Omnisource", the old herschfields scrap yard. I've weighed trailers there before for s.o.s. :).

    Thanks guys.

I guess he went to SOS this morning. No problem with using the weight from the manufacturer.

Trailer is good to go now but the boat itself is an issue... The seller gave him the registration paper but told him there was no title(boat is 18'). SOS says it is titled and he needs to get that straightened out with the seller..
