Unfortunately I think that until this hits someone one at a personal level be it themselves, a loved one or friend the deniers will keep brushing this off.

You are guaranteed the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, right up to the point where those rights for you infringe on anyone else's rights to the same thing. Thanks for doing the social distancing thing, "out of respect for others." But moving around, and acting like life is "normal," when it is anything but normal, is not respecting others. These are times we've never been through as a society, before. They call for measures that have never been implemented before. Like all the things medical professionals have been asking everyone to do for 9 months. But as a Country we suck at doing those things, far more than the rest of the world. We should try harder.

So far Covid-19 has wiped out .1% of Michigan's population so you're gonna have those that aren't that worried about it but will still take precautions. 100% of Michigan's residents know that Covid-19 can sometimes kill. I'd be more worried about cancer which takes about 21,000 Michiganders each year and there doesn't seem to be a cure in sight.

It's actually 100 times worse than that. It works out to .1%

Some deny it right until their last breath in the ICU.

Is cancer contagious? Can you pass on cancer without knowing it?

Maybe it can be hereditary but pretty sure you can't get it from being around a cancer patient. Surprised you didn't know that:):)

    Update for 11/30

Michigan announced 10,428 new confirmed cases over the last two days, which comes to an average of 5214 each day. Likewise 98 confirmed deaths were reported, which comes to an average of 49 each day.

The moving average for new cases is now down to 6605 cases per day which is now a 9% drop from the recent peak on November 21. New cases had begun to drop before Thanksgiving, but the four day weekend likely has depressed the numbers from the last couple days somewhat, so don't be surprised if later this week we see some larger single day totals back in the 8,000 to 10,000 range or maybe even higher to make up for it.

The moving averages for deaths have each climbed slightly over the last two days. The raw average is at 84 deaths per day, a new high point this fall. The corrected average is at 52 deaths per day which is still lower than the high point of the fall that we saw last week.

St Clair County reported since Saturday 140 new cases, no new deaths, and 3 new hospitalizations. The moving averages are now at 99 cases per day, 0.7 deaths per day, and 2.3 hospitalizations per day. The sharp drop seen with the moving average for new cases since Thanksgiving is even steeper than what we are seeing at the state level, so there's a high likelihood of some bigger numbers this week to play catch up on some delayed reportings.
