Awesome to hear, I rock mine on squirrels, groundhogs etc. it's a great gun that I thought I'd never appreciate . But it shoots tacks!

Thumbs up on those 17 Marlins!! Mine literary Stack's them one on top of the other @ 100. But I sure as heck won't use it on squirrels it leaves them a bit to messy for Me. I use my Disco PCP airgun with the silencer all you hear is the hammer strike, It keeps the woods nice and quiet for multiple victims being shot from one stand ;)

Congratulations on the new rifle! They are a woodchuck's nightmare. :)

I bought a NEF Sportster 17 HMR heavy barrel tip-up back in 2003 when ammo was 1/3 the price it is now. I bought lots of every brand available, CCI, Hornady, Remington, and Federal as they became available. I believe that they are all loaded by CCI, with different color tips in the Hornady bullets.

Mine is a tack driver as well, and the local woodchuck population absolutely hates it. It really does an outstanding job in that role, and the reason I purchased it.

It was only $135 back then, definitely doesn't owe me anything at this point, yet keeps on giving me those tiny little groups, and keeps the woodchucks under control.

I'm getting down to a few boxes of each and checked out the price they are getting for ammo today. Talk about sticker shock!
