Ok, buy a used garmin fishfinder from my buddy, needs a new transducer.

Cool, go to the Garmin website, and they have a online chat assistant. Ask what transducer they recommend for my Garmin Striker 7dv fishfinder.

They recommend a rather expensive one, I ask why that one because there are a number that are compatable with the Garmin 7dv and the one that they ship with new units is considerably cheaper but a lot larger. Their answer is "This is the Best". Find that it is already loaded in the shopping cart.

    Cool!

Being careful, I thoroughly read the specs and on the compatibility chart, clearly states that it will work with my model, the Striker 7dv. Awesome!

Well, I receive it and find that the plug is not compatible with my fish finder, larger diameter and the pins are not lined up the same. dang, well, I will just return it and order the correct one. Print out the order form, put a letter in rebox it and send it back. Meanwhile I email them saying that there chat assistant led me astray and that their website specifications are incorrect and I will expect a refund.

Two days later I get a response to my email...……….

"We are sorry to hear that you would like to return your purchase. Unfortunately, due to the current COVID -19 outbreak, we are currently not accepting any return/exchange.

I am currently in a email exchange trying to get my funds returned. This mix up is clearly not my fault, and I suspect that they are no longer returning my emails.

Suggestions as to how I should proceed.

No stores are accepting returns right now. In your case that sucks big time

If purchased with credit card call them and dispute the charge. I had to do it once and they went to bat for me and settled the issue quite quickly.

finally got a decent response, they asked for tracking numbers and said that they will credit my account.

Took about a week and 5 emails.

Honestly that's not too bad. I've had issues take a lot longer because you get passed from person to person and nobody reads what has already been said or done.

If you bought it from that link, that isn't Garmin.
