I first saw this buck Saturday night for a brief second and thought "Good Lord" that's a big deer. The morning was very slow and foggy. Saw a broken and beat up 8pt. that I passed on around 930. Then two does about 10. I was texting my dad around 1230, when for some reason I looked up and saw the body of a deer. He took a step and i saw the rack, I threw the phone down and grabbed the gun and got him in the scope and fired. He ran off, but I heard him go down. Not totally sure what I had shot, I walked up and couldn't believe it. I just sat down next to him, gave praise for about 5 minutes or so. Its been awhile since I have had a deer make my hands shake, but I had to calm down to gut him out. Luckily,my buddies came and helper me get him out of the swamp. He was 21" inside, longest tine 1115161318.jpg was 11", and green scored at 162 1/2 roughly.

GREAT BUCK. Sure must have made it extra nice to be able to have your dad there also. You are king for the day and the next then the next and so on. Have a few beers you don't have to worry about getting up early. Other than to help you dad. That shaking feeling never gets old does it?

Very nice. What a great feeling it is when first glance opens your eyes wide and your heart skips a beat. The no doubters never get old.
