Fished AM and PM trips today, went 1 for 4 total. Fished herring hole in the AM, 1st hit on a dipsey 100 back with meat rig, other on a 6 color with a moonshine spoon. Both came unbuttoned, we were in 80-100 ft of water - PM trip, ran north to point and trolled back, 80-110 ft of water, 1st fish hit a dipsey 100 back, meat rig and broke the split ring on the snap swivel (Arrrgghh). Lost the whole rig.. 2nd on a dipsey, 80 back, on a silver dodger and blue/green fly. That one finally hit the deck, nice 24lb King. Good day overall, just wish I could keep fish hooked. But it happens.

Currently 1 for 3 , Had a big rip on a Dipsy out 125, 140’ of water, with a flash or fly, then I had a good one on for a few minutes on a downrigger down 50 with a magnum carbon silver, then the other rigor fired same depth with the carbon orange and I landed that one, right around 12 pounds 2566E319-19BB-44CB-9B87-3E13A689B45E.jpeg

Same old story, just lost a heartbreaker ran into my ten color and then took the ten color under the boat into the kicker motor I couldn’t steer out of it in time, I actually had him hand lined right up to the edge of the boat grabbed the net & he snapped the line carbon silver I was pretty sure he was dead so I’ve been spending a little time here waiting for him to surface but it didn’t happen. Pretty nice fish upper teens for sure, he smokes straight out to 375 on the strike. Put on a good show for some guys in a maroon Lund. Maybe next time
