My neighbor shot are largest target buck yesterday morning. I’d believe I only saw him on 11-2. That was their 2nd time seeing 3EEEF4BB-F012-45D3-B3D0-C51060D29926.jpeg 3EEEF4BB-F012-45D3-B3D0-C51060D29926.jpeg him. He said it scored 166. DC89B17D-9457-4378-8EF9-2347168466E3.jpeg

Nice buck Randy. Now I see why you’re being patient.

At 3:00 PM I had to go in to work to take care of an issue. I'm throwing on a uniform in my bedroom and look out my window. There's 2 bucks and 2 does standing 30 yards off the back deck. Daughter sees them at the same time and yells DAD GET YOUR BOW.

    I live in a subdivision

Dont worry about hurting my feelings LOL. He said they scored it at 166 7/8.

We both work hard on passing young bucks and making our places better, it was fun just knowing he was out there!! Now I just have to figure out how to get them on my property more LOL. Ive got ideas already, now just to get them done.

  8. Hey guys, another kind of lackluster update. I hunted a fair amount this rifle season, a lot really and I don't have any antlers to show for it. I killed that doe on the fifth day, and that was all the blood that I spilled. My son missed a deer the first full weekend, that was exciting and a little disappointing.

I am actually kind of excited that rifle season is over, I am down but not out. I honestly think my target buck is still alive, and my goal for the short term is to find him again and make a plan to kill him sometime in the middle of the month when it gets cold and snowy. Late season is tough and can be disappointing but then again it is a whole month to try and track down a deer. I love hunting in the snow, it's the best time to scout.

I still think I will be able to put up an archery doe for the team, a buck will be a task, but I am on it.

  9. Here is the rifle doe in case we ever need to enter it..

I'm in the same boat Sam......I'll be back up to the farm next weekend, our last remaining corn came down and of course that's why I finally saw some normal deer movement. My cameras didn't show much since opening day so I guess we'll find out who made it thru. There's still hope for a buck if not I'm ready to take down a couple does either at the farm or locally over xmas...
