It's been a nice morning here, but wind is moving pretty good off the lake, calling for thunderstorms later today:(. We'll see what the weather is doing when it gets closer to quitting time. I planned on sitting our box blind anyway, but don't want to risk hitting a deer and losing the blood trail due to rain.

Sat until 10. Saw at least 13 and then after that there were deer walking around all over so who knows how many I saw.

On the way in I always use my headlamp with a red light. I see little red eyes about 10 ft away. PLEASE DON'T BE A SKUNK!
Was a coon but got the heart beating for a second.

Great morning to be in a tree

so hunting pressure is relatively high. most neighbors passing 1.5 but I’m pretty certain most if not all would shoot him. I on the other hand turn down way to many hoping they make it. I try and target only the top couple bucks I get on cam or see. So far he’s one of the better ones I’ve gotten so he’d be hard to turn down. I know of 4-5 good ones from last year that made it so I’m hoping they turn up. My 160 is land locked so as the season progress it gets better.

Decided to sit tonight out and get the camper ready for the weekend. So far that’s proving to be the wrong decision as it’s cleared up and blue skies are showing. I’ll have to take it on the chin and get out Sunday evening.

  11. 2 does, 2 fawns so far. All very close. I was tempted.....but there's been a big one here...I'll be patient.

  12. Although I'm not scared on bears, I would like this one to go away before I walk the same trail it's on.

Ended up seeing 6, 1 small buck. Got rained on a bit and the deer were acting screwy. Fawn was bleating every step and the doe and another fawn were just following him. He probably did it for a half hour playing follow the leader with the other 2. You could hear them well over 100 yards away and they walked all over the place.
