Headed up to NW public for the weekend. Looks like heavy wind today, so I will be taking advantage and move a couple stands.

    Good luck out there guys!
It's slow tonight. A few doe and small bucks but not much else going on today.

Wind has died down nicely, however not much for movement tonight.

Good Luck to everyone this weekend. We are slowly working our way to the rut.

I tagged an 8 pointer this evening that weighed 159 dressed. I hunted from the same stand I hunted yesterday which is only 200 yards from my cabin. Saw nothing yesterday there, but saw 4 deer.today in snowy, rainy, windy conditions. I had two buck come into my food together. Both of them were about the same size. I was hunting from a ground blind although there is a treestand there for when the weather is not as crappy.

Had a couple of young guys come out to hunt last night so I sat with one the other boy with my son and they both shot does and tagged out last night.. I was very tickled for the both of them..

They both made great shots and memories. The young guy sitting with me shot his deer after we had been in the stand a full 5 minutes.. His brother hunting with my son passed up 11 deer before deciding on which deer he would take..

Great job, Trophy! Last night I took a nephew hunting, his first time ever. A bit wet and windy on state land near Chelsea. Didn't see anything but still enjoyable.

This turned out to be a good hunting trip. I scored on my second buck today a broken rack 5 pointer that dressed out at 160 lbs. Probably another 2.5 year old buck. Looks like I'm done deer hunting for the year. I will certainly have a freezer full of venison though. Lots more bird hunting to do and I'll run a trap line during firearm deer season. We have a lot of coyotes around. If I had not found my first buck pronto, he would have been coyote chow. The guy pile was gone the next morning when I went back there to pull my orange tape trail.
