Just checking in boys, gun opener was busy around me which was expected with the uptick in hunters. My streak of shooting a deer a week ended after 3 weeks when I've hurt my back. I did get on a good buck but he proved pretty smart, only day time movement was in the middle of the bedding field nowhere close to a tree. Seen some does during bow but didn't send it cause I wasn't feeling the one man drag lol.Set old faithful gun opener and seen deer, could have filled the second buck tag but had my buddies son with me doing him a favor and said he could have first shot, he didn't fill confident about any shots that were presented then we got chased outta the tree by lightning around 10:15. Spot I'm gonna sit this morning has fresh buck sign and is a transition point between two types of bedding and I know from past experiences does still tend to move in the daylight during gun between em.

I'm in the same boat. Maybe the snow this week will pull some deer into my plots from adjacent properties. I have one plot I haven't hunted all season. I'm saving that for a snowy day.

Got countless does on one of my properties, I won't shoot one until late season. Checked cams, nothing much left after gun season. Nothing bigger than my current buck anyway. I am heading to the thumb this weekend with some friends and family to do some wind bumping in some thick cover.

I get that look all the time from the future wife and end up doing what I said I was gonna do. Better to ask for forgiveness then permission lol. Be back at it Saturday and Sunday morning, hitting the swamp spots trying to fill that second buck tag.
