2 for 4 on steelhead and 10 walleye this morning. 60-80 fow . 3-3.5 mph. Blue Dolphin on a wire diver out 115 on a 2.5 setting stole the show. Caught 8 fish on that plus all the steelhead action. Marked a bunch of fish and bait in that range. Steelhead were loaded with tiny shiners and some bigger smelt. Walleye were packed full of bugs. W.T.G. may head up that way in the next few day as long as winds stay fishable.

We were between 3 to 5 miles due east of the lighthouse.

Andy, the following question is just curiosity as you are fishing beyond reasonable paddling range. I am assuming you are running standard size salmon spoons, correct?
I'll be honest, I am trying to justify the size plugs I would run later in the year.
I do have a second question, has water color changed? I have not seen Carbon 14 in your recent reports. Maybe I am not paying close enough attention?

Yes standard Michigan stinger and silver streaks.
Water has been quite green this summer. Lots of particulates. Had carbon 14 out this morning with no action. Another favorite that has been quiet the last couple weeks is mixed veggies. Usually that is hot mid summer. Blue dolphin has been getting it done lately.

After reading your post I am going to run a few blue dolphins in my set up tomorrow. I normally have one in my spread, but may run a whole side just to see. It Seems when colors are hot up there, they’re also hot down here(southern lake huron) and vice versa.

Excellent! I’m assuming that was a grandson with you. I bet he had a blast.

I’ve done the same thing reading the Sanilac thread. Both the UV and regular variations of blue dolphin have been taking fish. Run them both if you have them.

Jordo has been our go to spoon this year. Spoon has Caught fish on everything from riggers, slide divers to 10 color. Picked up 4 more last weekend so it will probably go dead now...

Our longtime family friend Jake and I had to search a little bit for them this morning. Got a few fish due east of the light but most came a few miles south of where we had been fishing in 80-90 fow. Got 3 steelhead and 10 walleye. Riggers 50- 60 down, wire divers out 120-150 and only 1 fish on a full core. Blue dolphin again but UV variety outshined the regular (no pun Intended). About the same speed as last time. 3F73C848-3216-4AC0-8684-81072A535272.jpeg 41331F9C-90E2-4538-A278-FB17E9DC674B.jpeg 25D50FA3-7C68-4878-BAD5-AB0B2542A18D.jpeg
