    It has largemouth coloring. In the pic it looks like the corner of the mouth is in front of its eye.
    I always thought that was a smally trait. Maybe a crossbreed or angle of the pic.

    Thats what lead me to assume Smallmouth. Maybe some kind of hybrid.

    Thanks Stickman, I have caught a few in my day and I'm aware of typical markings.

    The lake I caught this on has tons of Smallies and very few Largemouths. The jaw was clearly in front of the eye. If I would have said I caught a largemouth I would have had 10 guys pipe in to look at the jaw, that it was a Smallmouth. LOL

    Edit: Just re read this, sorry stickman, didn't mean to sound like a smart ass.

    If there are mostly smallmouth and just a few Largemouth then a hybrid would be a good guess.

    Nice fish either way!

    maybe i am wrong but i always thought that the measurement was checked with the mouth closed and not opened.
