It's been tough to find days when the lake is sitting down, without fishing the crappy east wind days - but I've had a couple moderately successful trips so far this season. Trying out some new tactics this year and it's paid off. I really like targeting lake trout I never get to see them much because I exclusively shore fish. Gonna be hard to beat the 30 pounder from last year.
Here's some more fish. This spring hasn't been too bad for me. But fishing has been very hit or miss.
People aren't likely to give away the exact ports they're getting fish at. Notice most pictures won't giveaway a specific locations. This time of year those fish could be from any west side pier.
This time of year, pick a pier and fish it. Right now every West side pier on the Lake MI shore could produce Lakers, steelhead, brown trout, coho, walleye, catfish, sheephead, seagulls, and even an opportunistic merganzer LOL! Good luck if you get out there!
