Smelt streams

    Heading up today to scout to bring kids up next weekend, I've read about some spots, but could anyone point me in the right direction for east UP Superior smelt, pms welcome

    PM sent. Look on the map for creeks. If they have some sand and some flow there will be smelt in them at some point.

    There really are not a lot of options, probably less than a dozen popular spots all in a relatively short distance. Drive along the lake and look for any or all of these: Gulls congregating off a stream mouth, places where a lot of people pulled off the road, campfires and probably the most reliable of all, a lot of (unnecessary) trash left on the bank. FM

    looks like the ice blew out of pendills bay. not sure about up by whitefish point
