    Enjoying reading all the reports...busting my Simcoe cherry March 4-7. Staying near Duclos Point with direct access to the lake. Seems daunting to find good fish on a lake of this size having never been there. 3 of us each bringing our snowmobiles...hopefully we can stumble on a bite somewhere.

    Your timing should be spot on. Check to see if auger extension is needed?

    Yeah sounds like 20"+ of ice right now....I do own a extension so that will be packed if need be. My buddy who is organizing this trip has been a few times...his timing is from experience :)

    just got back yest from another great trip. fished snake island 17 ft n limited. ended up with 21 lbs for my 100. not hot n heavy but good fishing with lots of dinks mixed in. morning bite was best n only used slab grabbers.

    Guys I know got these today by the permanent huts in front of thorah. Probably same area we fished couple weekends ago. 20-25 fow. Goby jigging rapala and old style black and gold. I believe they used spikes on hooks too. Weekend can't come soon enough!

    Leaving saturday. Got an invite when one guy had to back out. Very excited first time. Staying in Jackson Point. Should be good time

    We are headed back to the peninsula March 1st, trying to decide to go to snake or stay between the islands. The 4 of us did horrible the first weekend in February, but the fishing was slow everywhere.
