Was hoping to get the kids out for some silver bass in the Trenton channel. Does anyone have any reports yet

All over the place. You'll see the boats anchored along the west side, just south of Edison.

Plenty of them in the Trenton. Should be a good time for the kids!

Heck yeah . We split them three ways. If you take a little extra care in the filleting and prep for cooking it’s all good. Chunked , dry fry mix n deep fried!! Yum. Great for bigger fish frys !! Shrubby, you should post a video of your filleting of these. It might help those that hate these Silvers so much to change their minds. FRANK

What’s the difference/trick to filleting them?

no difference to me... I clean both very well. Quality fillet over quantity.

But treat them like they're going to rot within hours. Throw them right on ice, fillet them right away and keep them cold. They seem to stay more firm and flaky that way.

silvers are fine fresh, if properly cleaned something very bad happens to them after they are thawed from being frozen they get mushy and fishy tasting
