Quite a few hotels/motels offer weekly or monthly rentals.

Yeah, but I heard you're supposed to tip which will really get expensive ;)

Did your son join a fraternity at Tech? Maybe a different chapter can put him up.

Contact some of the local apartments and see if their are any available leases he could take over. Sometimes people are looking to get out of leases and need someone to finish out their term. Craigslist and facebook daily surfing will likely have some options.

And ex-girlfriend of mine along time ago rented a room from an elderly couple in a trailer park. It was a double wide so wasn’t that bad.

It’s too bad I don’t have the rooms cleaned out in the pole barn, could’ve rented one to him for cheap. But that would be in Sterling and still a little bit of a hike to Bay City.

Huh?? I can't image someone living in my back yard, let alone letting them in my shower! Those people must be hard up for cash, lol. I would take a day and ride around Bay City with your son. There are lots of appartments for rent that aren't advertised.

I'm with the idea of living close and focusing on the job. Just like Plugger said, it could really pay off in the end. So, a real place to live where he can unwind after hours and keep up with any studying or research required.

    Good luck to your Son!
