Nothing cooler or more fun than watching that bobber circle a hole and then start heading for the bottom ever so slowly

Set up a tent and four people are comfortable all night. Lanterns hanging from the poles and a few Buddy heaters. The light in holes really draw in the bugs to make a difference. Direct float lights work the best.

Holy Smokes! Lantern(s) and a (FEW) Buddy heaters, must be sauna like in there but then again if you are using a tent I could see needing it, haha. I get by in my big insulated hub with one lantern hanging from the center and one regular Buddy on high on the coldest of nights. I do agree though, I love it after dark and that is when some of the big girls come out to play. A few years back I got 2 master anglers (14.5" and 15.5" both a white and black crappie) on the same night with one around 10pm and the other midnight if I remember correctly. It was on MLK day too and we all know that is around the corner and my honey hole is ready I believe. I'll be hitting it this weekend for an all day adventure so I'm sure I'll have some fish porn soon to add to the mix if it is as fishable as I hope it is. FINGERS CROSSED!

Haha, I bet you would. Hopefully come the end of the weekend I'll have some pics for you to drool over and then we can talk about a "guided" trip, lol.

We actually camped out on the ice for the whole weekend, four of us in our youth. We had the graphs telling us about the night Crappie.

We used to do that on Lincoln and Blue lakes back in the 70's and early 80's

Didn't take a chance coming up this morning because of the icy roads. Started thru town and seen a couple of cars spinning around. Lived to fish another day safely. Might change up my game plan for tomorrow. Headed to the PM for some steelies hopefully.

Well, my game plan went fairly good yesterday. Had a lot of fun finding these guys and gals. Went 4 for 6. Beads #10 and #12 orange worked for us. Fished 10:00-4:00.
P.S. I know it probably don't belong here. But, just reporting back from my last post. IMG_20210113_160948151_HDR.jpg

I don't think I have ever caught rainbows in Secord Pond.

Well done Eagle eyes. I bet that was a fun time. It has been many years since I waded the rivers for some steelies. Were you fishing from shore or did you have a boat?
