Good video. Thanks!
Buy an aftermarket stock with a thumbhole, it makes it much easier to carry for a long time. I'm used to all-day upland hunts, so carrying a firearm in my two hands all day at the ready is no big deal. I have a sling on a couple of my guns, but never use one for a still hunt.
The QD attachments are on the side. Here’s a video of my setup.

Safari Sling. That's what I used when still hunting.
You can always sew a shoulder strap on your jacket. That was one of the uses that were actually practical for those things.
I like the 100% neoprene slings, they ‘grab’ well to anything I wear - wool, cotton, rain gear, etc. I’ve used one for almost 20 years on my 12 ga that I use for turkey and carried for deer for 15 years before I switched to using my inline muzzy.
I haven’t used one myself, but the new paracord slings are also supposed to prevent slippage

Safari sling looks cool. Looks like a cheap, practical way to make it function on a hunting rifle like nitros tactical rig. I was never thinking of running my rifle in front like that because I always just cradle it in the bend of my left arm while actually hunting. Never bothered me much. Something I might try. But for the purpose of this thread the slogan sling has my vote so far.
Same setup I use on my DMR..
Another reason for the U.S. military jacket I wear for hunting. Everybody just thinks it's for the pockets for cans!
Safari sling or a Kifaru gun bearer. The Kifaru gun bearer attaches the gun to the backpacks belt and shoulder strap. Puts the weight of the gun on the pack belt and off the shoulder. Thats assuming you have a belt on your pack.
when I'm hunting actively, the gun is in my hands. I'll stop to glass and put the sling on my shoulder but not moving so it doesn't slide off. For long walks after hours, I sling over my head and onto the other shoulder so it can't slip off.
Someone once told me that slings have saved a lot of deer lives, so I always remember that and keep ready, at least when I'm on the move.
I carry my sling detached from the rifle in a pocket or pack, and only use it if I'm dragging something.
I thought those were used to snag branches with....
I like my single point sling for small game. It hangs the weapon perfectly at waist level and you can sling it behind you if needed.
I have a half dozen or so as well. I'm not sure how long I've had them, but they are as good as when I bought them.
Kifaru gun bearer! I bought one this year and used it in Wyoming. Best way to tote a rifle with a backpack on.
